The right to be who you want to be(come).. even in RPG!

World of Warcraft:

http://brewergnome.livejournal.com/ in a conversation of what is deemed offensive…

General chat or say that has any sexual intention that is inapproriate or obscene. Our goal is not to police all chat in the game but rather to keep the environment free of chat that is clearly offensive.

[GM] Once again, while it does have good intentions other players may take offense to it

[Sylveri] So if, for example they wanted to have an in game wedding, as many heterosexual couples do.

[GM] Could be reported

[Sylveri] Anything can be reported, would they be warned or suspended?

[GM] Yes if you review our policies it would be under Sexual Orientation

[Sylveri] So there’s no reference to sexual orientation ever, unless it’s heterosexual?

[GM] Once again, while you may not think there is no reference, other players on the realm might think there is

That is quite clear: you may only have heterosexual characters in this (MMO)RPG

Any reference to sexual orientation is deamed inappropriate and/or offensive unless it’s heterosexuality. Now there’s good reason for homosexual to feel offended, not?

I find all this quite ridiculous. I heard from a friend who plays WOW there even is “Grimbergen” beer in it. Now what if your player drinks that, won’t he become offensive? :-)))))

What’s this?
