The traditional press – you know, the guys who look down on citizen journalism and bloggers – never fail to amaze me. Today again:

Pour la promotion de son nouvel album, « Accelerate », le trio géorgien nous reçoit en exclusivité à Tribeca.

Unless exclusivité means something else in French than it does in other languages, this would mean that they are the only newspaper to interview R.E.M. (The trio from Georgia).

Il confie que le groupe est là pour une semaine de promo pour la presse du monde entier.

Oh no, I think it must mean something else… or the journalist doesn’t really understand exclusivity. He could have written: “en toute exclusivité pour la Belgique”, or even “en toute exclusivité pour Bruxelles”, but no. Exclusivité!

I know I should have stopped reading that filthy piece of paper long time ago, but I can’t help it! I need to be annoyed on a regular basis, and what better way to get annoyed than by reading articles like these.

UPDATE: it wasn’t even “exclusive interview for Belgium”, there’s an interview with them in Humo as well this week.
