BCN recommendations: food

Tragaluz. I went to Tragaluz for the first time 4 years ago, when the better half took me there for my special birthday. It was recommended in the Lonely P, and as they are *never* (ahum) wrong, we trusted them completely. They were right. And after more than four years, the restaurant is still living up to our high expectations! Not as cheap as eating tapas, but still not expensive (or do you think that 50€+ per head is high when you have three courses and two bottles of recommended wine between six of you?). It’s very close to the Pedrera in Passeig de Concepcio (side street of Passeig de Gracia). Service was a bit too fast (for me), but that’s probably because our party was speaking English and Brits as well as ppl of the US want their food on the table a bit faster than the rest of the world that eats in separate courses.
Ciudad Condal. Another recommend in the same general area (Pedrera, Battlo,…) is the Ciutal Comtal (Cat.). You can see the popularity from the bigger picture above. They have a lovely terrace in the middle of the Rambla de Catalunya (nr 18), but the interior is splendid as well. Having spent most of my summer in cold (global warming, where the feck are you?) and rainy Brussels, we did go for the terrace. The tapas are cheap, excellent quality and the Jamon Iberico is a must (except for vegans, vegetarians and people with real allergies).
Some more non food-related recommendations coming up when more time (busy schedule this week).
