16. What about transfer passengers?
If the first flight begins at an airport in the EU, passengers will only be carrying liquids in conformity with the regulation. So they are allowed to take the liquids on-board their second flight, so long as they are packed in tamper-evident bags (see question 14).
Security personnel at Schiphol airport told Karen last Monday that she couldn’t take her sealed bag with purchases from Brussels Airport on board. Despite the EU regulations, ànd the rules displayed in the brochures from Schiphol airport (which say the same as EU websites) ! The bag with 93€ worth of duty free perfume and cosmetics were put aside. Karen only had 10 minutes to be in time for boarding, so she didn’t have the time to argue.
Personally, I think this is pure theft by officials…
