Knees, holidays and job hunting

Been quiet here again, has it not? Karen’s knee is a lot better. She’s had surgery on the meniscus and most of the swelling on that knee has gone. She’s done physiotherapy and she’s almost capable of completely stretching her leg. Knowing she hasn’t stretched that leg for a couple of months, this seems like a huge improvement for us.
The doctor was thinking about a second surgery, but after putting a camera in her knee, doesn’t want to do this second surgery anymore. Her knee cannot take it! So the only other option if her knee doesn’t heal completely by Christmas, is a new knee! So let’s hope for a good recovery…

Anyway, we’re leaving town tomorrow to head down under for three weeks. And now that Karen can walk again, we’ll be able to do some sightseeing, hurray! The first week will mainly exist of swimming and lying about in the sun, so there’s no reason to worry about the knee.

On the job hunting front: not much to tell. Had some good and less good headhunters on the line, and I’m applying for jobs internally at Oracle. We’ll see what works. With a bit of luck, I have a telephone interview during my holiday. The target date for moving to London is coming close now!
