Top 20 Artists 2011

December 22, 2011 Comments Off on Top 20 Artists 2011

Apart from Radio (currently listening a lot to Jazz FM, NOS 6 Jazz and Gaydarradio in the morning for the hilarious Debbie), which is not scrobbled (yet?) via the TuneIn radio app on my phone and our iPad, this is the list of top20 artists I’ve scrobbled this year. I should technically wait until next week, but that week won’t make a significant difference.

Remarks to make: Jef Neve would have ended higher, because some of his work is either scrobbled as Jef Neve Trio, Jef Neve & José James or with Groovething. Florence and The Machine is on the rise, but they only recently released their album. Same is true for Amy Winehouse.
Other remark: 5 out of 20 in there are Belgium. Can’t deny my roots…

It is abundantly clear that the Last.Fm stats for jazz artists are not usable. Miles Davis has played with Charlie Parker, in his own quintet… in all sort of formations. So it’s difficult to see how much I’ve listened to Miles Davis, just as an example.
